We've constantly heard about male billionaires making it early and reaching the billion mark before their 30's, but not much is being said about women achieving similar feat. Meet Elizabeth Holmes who has self made herself a Billionaire... 
The combination of a great idea and the internet revolution has been one of the best things ever happened to Stanford University dropout Elizabeth Holmes at 19, who with the help of her professor quickly turned her blood testing idea into a 9 $billion fortune.

With her second business being Theranos which she founded in 2003, Holmes was already primed for success running her company while still studying, dividing her time between studying and her business. Her amo is simple, Better blood testing requiring just a few drops of the patients blood which are then quickly and cheaply analysed by a handheld device she developed herself. Holmes made her wealth by emphasizing on her ability to carry out cheaper, faster tests than her rivals, which Theranos has a list of more than 200 tests it carries out with the prices – which are cheaper than traditional testing firms’ – displayed before the work is carried out.

In an interview with the UK’s BBC, Holmes said: 
According to Forbes, Holmes owns 50 Per cent of the company which is run from the former Facebook offices at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, along with other owners like US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and former US Defence Secretary George Shultz. 
Theranos sold its services to major pharmaceutical companies to help them reduce the costs of drug development, by using speedier, cheaper results to cut costs in the testing phase. Holmes has challenged herself with a mission to revolutionize the face of the healthcare industry in general, all as a college dropout. Her company Theranos has teamed up with Walgreen’s, a drugstore chain with over 8,000 stores to set up Theranos Wellness Centres.

Holmes has made us know that with a good idea, talent, drive and determination impossible is nothing, and that one can change the course of his own destiny to that of a luxurious and affluent lifestyle the poor dream about and the rich live on a daily basis.
