                                A WORLD WITHOUT VIOLENCE

 

As preparation for NMVA 2014 heats up, words from the organizers have it that entries closed officially on the 30th of September and screening of videos for eventual nominations has since begun.

Entries were collated from interested participants nationwide, videos from as far as Kano, Akwa Ibom, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Ibadan to mention a few were entered for consideration.

About 5,000 videos were received. An academy of VJs (Video Jockeys) from various music and entertainment media platforms to were selected to conduct a thorough screening of the music videos. 

This process is expected to separate the very best from the mediocre videos and also allow for proper categorization.

Videos that make it through this process will be presented to the judges for another round of scrutiny which will lead to the emergence of nominees. 

Some of the criteria to be employed by the judges at this stage include; video resolution, cinematography, concepts/ story board and illustration, directing, editing, creative innovations, etc.
 

The nominees are expected to be made public in few days’ time. There are 21 categories up for contention this year which include, best indigenous video, best use of special effect, best afro pop, etc. with video of the year been keenly contested for.

The 2014 Edition of the NMVA aptly tagged “A WORLD WITHOUT VIOLENCE” is dedicated to deepening the consciousness of a violence free environment. The award ceremony is slated to hold on Wednesday, 26th of November at Eko Hotel and Suites... Red carpet kicks off at 5pm.
