LADY GAGA SCORES HER FOURTH NO. 1 ALBUM ON BILLBOARD 200 CHART WITH ‘JOANNE’
Lady Gaga claims her fourth No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, as Joanne arrives in the pole position. The set earned 201,000 equivalent album units — a better-than-expected start — in the week ending Oct. 27, according to Nielsen Music.
Joanne was released on Oct. 21 through Streamline/Interscope Records.
According to Billboard, Joanne was the fourth largest debut of the year, and the second largest debut for a female artist. It trailed Drake’s VIEWS(1.04 million units), Beyoncé’s LEMONADE (653,000 units), and Frank Ocean’s Blonde(276,000 units). But those weren’t the only milestones Gaga reached with Joanne. Billboard reports she has become the first woman with four No. 1 albums in the 2010s, passing Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, who have each earned three so far.
